hectors.ai is a simple chat app for AI models. Start with these steps:

• Pick an AI model in the model picker
• Choose a mode that matches what you want to do
• Type your message and start chatting
• Use slash commands for quick actions
• Open the menu to see past chats

To use hectors.ai, add your own API keys:

• OpenAI: Get your API key from platform.openai.com
• Anthropic: Get your API key from console.anthropic.com
• Google AI: Get your API key from aistudio.google.com

We encrypt your keys before storing them. They are only used to call the provider you choose.

Each mode helps with a different kind of task:

• Think: Step-by-step problem solving
• Build: Coding and technical work
• Write: Drafting and editing text
• Explore: Learning and brainstorming
• Summarize: Short, clear takeaways
• Cook: Recipes and meal ideas

We try to keep your data safe:

• Conversations are stored locally in your browser
• API keys are encrypted before being stored
• Requests pass through our server to your selected AI provider
• We do not store the content of your conversations on our servers
